Teenager convicted of 50,000 hacks

A Finnish teenager named Julius Kivimaki has been found guilty of over 50,700 "instances of aggravated computer break-ins".

His list of attacks have included hijacking emails, blocking traffic to websites and theft of bank and credit card details.

Surprisingly, he has not been sent to prison after being convicted. Instead, he received a 2 year suspended sentence and was ordered to pay €6,588 worth of property obtained through his crimes. He had been aged 15 and 16 during the time of the offence.
