Maine Police Pay Ransomware Demand in Bitcoin

The latest victims in a online blackmailing scheme were suprisingly a group of police departments in Maine. The hackers threatened to destroy computer files belonging to the coppers unless a ransomn of $300 was paid- in bitcoin. The "ransomware" virus was accidentally downloaded using the communal network, thus giving the hackers access to a large amount of data which they then locked until the ransomn was paid. Tut tut.... they should have had the latest version of Bitdefender Internet Security installed.
